Malyon House – Te Puke is the smallest of three rest home/hospitals in Te Puke.

Te Puke is a thriving rural town 25 minutes drive east of Tauranga

We have been upgrading this aged care facility since we purchased it in 1999, and now we can cater for 33 rest home and hospital level care residents in a three level building and adjacent house where we have rooms for 5 semi-independent residents

Michelle Watson has been the manager here since 1990.  She is a registered General Nurse, who has more than 15 years management and practical experience in Aged Care.

Healthcare

Our residents are fully supported by a team of Registered Nurses one of which is on duty 24 hours a day.

Residents either attend their own Doctors’ surgery, or be visited if they are unwell

In the case of urgent care, we have a contract with the Order of St John to provide ambulance services

Our pharmacist pre-packages all our medications for all of our clients

We encourage families to take residents to hospital outpatients’ appointments, but if they are unavailable one of staff members will accompany them

Accommodation

We have 29 single rooms, and 2 double rooms for married couples, all with ensuite facilities

4 of these rooms are in our semi-independent unit – (attached to the main building by a link wing).  This area has its own living/dining area, and deck which looks over the garden.  We also have an enclosed garden at the front of the property

Dining

Meals are served in the main dining room.  Breakfast is usually served in bed unless otherwise preferred.

Food is prepared daily by our two cooks, and there is always fresh baking with morning or afternoon tea.  Special diets are catered for.

Tea and coffee making facilities are available for those who enjoy additional cuppas.

We have the Bay of Plenty Times delivered daily, and the Te Puke Times weekly – personal copies can be arranged
