Malyon House at the Mount is situated in Heath Street - just a few steps behind the Central Parade Shopping Centre.
We are a small friendly aged care facility catering for the needs of our 29 residents. Mount maunganui rest Home aged care residential
Monette Burns has managed Malyon since 1996, with more then 15 years practical and management experience in the Aged Care sector

Healthcare
Residents either attend their own Doctors’ surgeries for medical care, or are visited at the home if they are unwell
In the case of urgently needed care, we have a contract with the Order of St John to provide ambulance services to Tauranga Hospital
Our pharmacist pre-packages all our medications for all of our clients
We encourage families to take residents to hospital outpatient’s appointments, but if they are unavailable one of the staff members will accompany them.
Accommodation
We have 29 single rooms, with two semi-independent units attached to the facility. These areas each have their own living/dining area and bathrooms.
We have a telephone for our residents' use, and some rooms have individual jack points for personal telephones if you wish.
Dining
Meals are served in the main dining room at the front of the house. Breakfast is usually served in bed unless otherwise preferred.
Food is prepared on site daily by our two cooks, and there is always fresh baking with morning or afternoon tea.
Diabetic and other special diets are catered for.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available for those who enjoy additional cuppas.
We have the Herald and the Bay of Plenty Times delivered daily – personal copies can be arranged

§ All rooms have electric heating as well as the storage heating in the hallways and lounge
§ § We are fully protected with monitored sprinklers and smoke alarms
§ § There are 3 separate lounge areas, plus deck
§ Daily on site laundry
§ § Hair stylist available weekly
Activities
We have a care assistant with special responsibility for activities and outings on duty each week day.
A wheel chair hoist in our van ensures that everybody can get out and about as they are able.

Visiting
Visitors are always welcome – friends and family can come at any time

Respite care/carer support
We are delighted to have short stay clients when we have empty beds, otherwise beds may be available at one of associated facilities
(Malyon House Te Puke, Acacia Park at Omokoroa, Mitchell Court in Matua, Devonport Palms in Tauranga, and Raglan Trust Hospital and Rest Home)
Certification
Malyon House - Mount Maunganui has full certification to the Health and Disability Sector Standards HSC 8134: 2003
We also participate in the ACC Work place Safety Management programme, and have a tertiary level certificate
